Pilgrimages of Remembrance
The support of pilgrimages of Remembrance evolved from The Royal Canadian Legion pilgrimages, which began in 1936. These emotional visits to the sites of the First World War and Second World War battles are a critical means of educating adults about Canada’s military history.
Remembrance Contests for Children and Youth
The national literary and poster contests are designed to help educate primary and secondary students about Canada’s military history and heritage. The contests instill the important tradition of Remembrance in our youth.
Scholarships and Bursaries
Scholarships or bursaries are awarded to family of active and retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. This financial assistance enables family members to attend post-secondary educational institutions.
Remembrance Teaching Guide
Learning about Canada’s military history starts at a young age. Providing primary and secondary school teachers with the necessary resources to share accurate and important information about our past, fosters a tradition of Remembrance among our youth.
Helping the Veteran Community
Many groups across the country exist solely to help improve the lives of Veterans through housing, tools for daily living, or with other supports. Groups that operate as registered charities or not-for-profit organizations often need financial help to achieve their goals.
